The End Of The Decade.

So today is the last day of the Twenty Tens and I’ve been looking back on the past decade and what it’s meant to me professionally.

In 2010 I had finished working as a Post Production Supervisor and I took a leap of faith to follow my dream of becoming a composer. I began writing as much music as I could, mainly for short films. The projects varied greatly and gave me the opportunity to hone my craft both creatively and technically. They also helped me figure out what I was good at and what kinds of projects light my fire. As my career progressed I got some TV gigs and I’m extremely happy to say I built some long lasting relationships that are still bearing creative fruit.

I decided I’d make a playlist of ten tracks I’ve written over the past decade, so yesterday I trawled through nine years of projects to see what I could find, including something from each year. It was a humbling and enlightening experience; I’ll be honest some of the earlier stuff was hard to listen to without being massively self critical. It’s easy for me to just to hear the notes I’ve hit too hard or the parts of the mixes that sound muddy but each of these cues is a road in my journey. They are how I have learned and believe me, I have learned a lot. I hope you enjoy listening - click on the picture to load the playlist….
